Article 3 Information regarding the association

3.1

EBC European Business Congress (hereinafter referred to as "EBC") is an international non-state organisation. EBC is an association of companies and of associations of companies and organizations domiciled in member states of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE).

3.2

After registration in the Register of Associations at the competent District Court, EBC will be a German-law association with legal personality.

3.3

The working languages of EBC are German, English, French, Italian and Russian.

3.4

EBC has letterheads and forms bearing its name in the working languages. EBC also has an emblem; application for its registration is to be filed with the competent authority in accordance with the valid legal regulations.

3.5

EBC conducts its activities pursuant to law and these Articles of Association.

3.6

EBC's members are committed to the principles of constitutional law, publicity, self-administration, voluntariness and equality (subject to special rights regulated in these Articles of Association) and of mutual respect and trust.

3.7

EBC's members are not liable for the association's liabilities.

Article 4 Object of the association

4.1

EBC's objects are:

4.1.1

participation in the development of economic cooperation between the OSCE countries,

4.1.2

promotion of economic development in the OSCE countries,

4.1.3

promotion of a sustained dialogue between politics and business community.

4.2

The objects set out in the Articles of Association are achieved by EBC in particular by:

4.2.1

organizing and holding conferences, symposia and seminars on entrepreneurial questions and topics of current economic relevance,

4.2.2

formulating practical proposals for solutions conducive to cooperation between companies in the OSCE countries,

4.2.3

passing on such proposals for solutions as recommendations to governments and the competent authorities in the OSCE countries as well as to international organisations,

4.2.4

promoting an efficient exchange of information and fostering contacts inside the EBC and externally,

4.2.5

establishing contacts with official, commercial and other agencies in the OSCE countries and with organizations at international and national level,

4.2.6

promoting cooperation between companies and international organizations,

4.2.7

promoting advanced vocational training at companies and for companies' staff,

4.2.8

organizing and holding information meetings and publications.

4.3

The purpose of the EBC is not oriented towards commercial business operations. The EBC also maintains no commercial business operations. It is a not-for-profit organization.

4.4

EBC funds may only be used for purposes set out in the Articles of Association. The members of the EBC receive no payments from EBC funds.

4.5

No person may benefit from outlays which are foreign to the purpose of the EBC or from unreasonably high remuneration.
